In today's world, we see that our current reality in almost every place and in every country is shaped by three universal conditions or we could say divides:

​

 

• The Ecological divide, experienced in the rapidly increasing climate change and loss of biodiversity.

• The Social divide, which we experience in the increasing polarisation in society, the growing social inequality and the increase in war and violence.

• The Spiritual divide, the divide of human beings from themselves, expressed in a collective feeling of depression, helplessness and hopelessness.

 

On our 11-day journey to Egypt, we will experience a threefold process that can counteract the three divides:

SEKEM, the "Miracle in the Desert", began in 1977 to green the desert through biodynamic agriculture and to build a vibrant community. In the meantime, this has developed into a large community, with sustainable agriculture, fair companies and trade and special educational projects from kindergarten to university. The founder of SEKEM, Ibrahim Abouleish, received the Alternative Nobel Prize for this in 2003. SEKEM is a globally recognized and widely sought-after lighthouse project that works according to the holistic concept of "Economy of Love". This approach includes the areas of economy, ecology, society and culture. All four areas must be considered in harmony in order to have a healing effect in our crisis-ridden world.​

​Get to know the concept of "Economy of Love" in all its facets with us and let yourself be inspired for your future projects. We visit the SEKEM Farm and the most important companies of the SEKEM Holding, where the processing and shipping of the food produced on the farms takes place. Get to know the educational concept of the SEKEM community from kindergarten to vocational schools to Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development. 

 

We will also visit the Siwa Desert Oasis and an organic date farm and we will embark on a deep nature experience in a nature solo in the desert at the Siwa Salt Lake. 

 

Our accommodations are the SEKEM Farm and SALT-Ecolodge, a unique retreat center in the Siwa Oasis, where desert and salt lakes welcome us gently and friendly.

 

Enjoy with us the unique Egyptian hospitality and the breathtaking beauty of Egyptian nature.

The trainers are all three deeply familiar with SEKEM and with the country of Egypt. Christiane and Andreas are intimately connected to SEKEM through their many years of consulting work on site.

Nana Woo has been living in SEKEM for 7 years and is a member of the SEKEM Future Council.

 

Therefore, you will have the opportunity to experience SEKEM from the inside out and to talk directly to many locals and people living there.

After registration you will receive a confirmation of registration and invoice.
We kindly ask you to transfer half of the participation fee within one week after registration.

 

​Cancellation:
In case of cancellation until November 30, 2025, you will be charged 20% of the total price. In case of cancellation from 1 December, 50% of the total price will be charged.If the trip is cancelled for other reasons (too few participants or similar), you will receive your entire deposit back.​​
